Just got my copy and I am well pleased with the content. It's a good follow-up to the Hamburg DVD, which I truly love to death.

Ben G's appearance was a highlight for certain and his contributions to the show (and to the band's legacy) were immense.

My only regret is I wasn't there with Ashmates from far and wide to celebrate this event in person.

Just realised that when I posted this in October after the Glasgow show it should have gone on here. Thanks for all the positive comments, folks.

"Finally got to watch the 40th anniversary DVD this morning. This is immense!
We didn't manage down to the show so this is the next best thing, I guess, and what a treat.
Nice to see God as the opening act. Bit of a coup, innit? He's probably played bigger gigs, but, as Noel Gallagher said, when was the last time God played two nights at Knebworth?
Right, on with the motley...
Blind Eye This song will always be associated with Ted Turner, and rightly so, but Muddy's fills are amazing.
Runaway Remarkable version - the highest I've ever heard Bob in the mix on a DVD. This is A Good Thing
Right Or Wrong Must be a bugger to play. Executed in fine style - Muddy in particular shines on this one.
Growing Up One of the finest Ash lyrics ever, courtesy of the Mudman. It's like a short story - I can see the movie in my head every time I listen to it. Remarkable song. Brilliantly edited and very moving. The fact that it's allied to a cracking tune is just a bonus. Along with Andy Powell's Hope Springs Eternal, the best song on TPOE, and it deserves its place here.
Sometime World What can you say? One of the finest songs from one of the greatest rock albums ever made. A.P.'s ever-growing prowess as a vocalist as well as being one of the finest guitar-slingers ever to walk the planet is much in evidence here. And Bob? Now, I've been fannying about on the bass for 20 years, and I've never come close to matching this guy's skills. He plays with soul and vision, never better than as represented on this version of STW. He's filling the shoes of Martin Turner, John Wetton and Trevor Bolder - no pressure, then! Nice one, Bob.
Rainstorm Like it! interesting lyric... . That guitar is bloody mental though, Andy.
Way Of The World Wow! Laurie's finest WA song done real justice here. Lovely spiel from A.P. at the start too.
Everybody Needs A Friend What a terrific song. This one always makes me think of the much-missed Laureen Large, and always will. A true friend and a dedicated fan, above and beyond. How great to see Mark Birch rejoining WA for this number. Mark will always be a valued part of WA history.
The King Will Come My favourite Wishbone song. I used to listen to it every day in my teens. Again, with Bob high in the mix and Muddy, Andy and Joe firing away, this is a real pleasure. Rocks like hell, too.
Throw Down The Sword Here's one where you can always rely on Andy to deliver the goods. This is a great version, and sends the memories ringing down the years. A very emotional listen.
Cell Of Fame Spam was on bass and vocals the first time I ever saw the band, back in '85. Cool to see him back, and a wise choice of song.
Almighty Blues Not so long ago, there was an uncertain time for Wishbone Ash. Then I bought a certain new album, stuck it on nice and loud and was grinning all over my face within seconds. Just got that feeling all over again watching this.
Faith, Hope And Love Ben and Muddy on the same stage! LOVE IT!
Engine Overheat Great to see this one resurrected. An overlooked classic, with a great chorus.
Phoenix I hate to sound like Simon Cowell here, but over the last few years Muddy has truly owned this song. What a pleasure.
Jail Bait WA get down and dirty on this all-time classic. I could listen to this all day.
Blowin' Free Every time I stick BF on I'm reminded how great a choon it is. The only way to Say Goodbye...

So! Hats off, champagne all round, and well done Andy, Bob, Muddy and Joe and everyone else behind this fantastic DVD. 31 years since I first heard There's The Rub and I'm in love with the band all over again."

Cheers, Davie :D
You know how much I love them boys, and Mart's team too, but this just knocked my socks off on first listen. Takes nothing away from the 30th Anniversary DVD and the terrific Spirit Of '66 (still not sure about that title, but I suppose it was momentous year - I mean Walt Disney died, so, c'mon  ) and Hamburg ones, but this is pretty dang special.

Go for it folks, pick this beauty up if you've not had the chance yet. 8-)

Should mention - Growing Up for me, every time I hear it, takes me straight back to a holiday with my folks on the Isle Of Arran just across the water, where we used go every August.
This time, I was fifteen, full of hormones, and spent the whole fortnight hanging out with a gorgeous local girl with eyes like burning coals, fiesty and loads of fun. Pure "cigarettes behind the bike sheds" stuff. I'll never forget it.
Thanks for putting it into words, Muddy. Those were the days, my man!
