Laurie Wisefield

Postby Andrew W on Mon Apr 13, 2009 6:35 pm

Went up to the NIA in Birmingham last week to see Tina Turner. It was really great to see Laurie on stage again after all of these years - brought back the memories.

However, Laurie didn't play much lead, as far as I could tell - he was mainly the rhythym player.

Mind you, perhaps he wouldn't be able to concentrate on the harder stuff, looking at the back of Tina Turner (even if she is 69) and her four nubile dancers all night long!!!!

P.S. Also great to see John Miles on lead guitar in Tina's Band.

Didn't John 'music' Miles play guitar for TT for many years ? Under-rated guitar player IMO. He's no Laurie, granted

I've been watching the TT video on TV from last year's stop in Arnheim, just to catch the few bits of LW playing. Sadly, he doesn't get much time on lead work but he still wipes the floor with most players. The other guy is adequate I guess but doesn't possess major chops by any stretch.

The dancers weren't hard to look at, I loved the short haired brunette...

I saw that one Steve...I'm not a real Tina fan...but...it is amazing how she can still entertain at ..I think 69 years old...Laurie looked like he was having fun...and not a bad gig to have on his resume...and the Bills need to get paid ;)

Said it before and I will say it again,I wouldn't watch Tina Turner if the top 50 Guitarists and every dancer in Vegas was on stage with her.Who's next CHER
