Kendal was.........MINT ! A packed Bootleggers saw a Man Flu gripped Andy (you wouldn't have known!) lead the band through a rip roaring LD set, book ended by a couple of newer songs,-I even coaxed a pick from Andy at the end! Will definitely be back next time- was this the 3rd Bootleggers visit? - and next time.........I'M NOT DRIVING! :). :)

Will try to post revue when I get back, tho more likely the night after....;).

Well what do you know-Bootleggers and Wishbone Ash delivered another stellar performance on a cool autumn evening. With a full house-looking back from my front line-in-front-of-Muddy position, anyway,The Power got us up and running,a similar set to others before it,putting In Crisis in place of Living Proof on the printed setlist, omitting Open Road for nothing less than Phoenix.the encore was slightly forced upon the band early as there was no room to get off the stage for a breather, and as somebody yelled out "JAILBAIT",it was duly played.Bowin' Free' was supposed to be before it but got dropped last thing, not many times THAT has happened when I've seen them these last...........so many years! As usual it was a rollicking good night, the band appearing afterwards for signings-,well,Andy DOES have a book to sell! Seriously, this band delivers night after night, and as the tee shirt bought says on it Road Warrior, this could easily apply to the band, not the wearer, anyone can see the passion and devotion they put into their performances, they have fun with it too, mind,Andy's banter throughout winning over any doubters in the audience.I reminded Andy about his signature I have tattooed on my forearm, and he remembered right away, getting Pauline to get a close up photo of it! I'm wondering if he'll post it anywhere, tho I don't have bookface or twatter accounts,i've asked Jr. Boneidol to look out for it ! Once again, thank you Wishbone Ash for a great evening of classic rock from a classic band, you do us proud!

Did I mention the drunk guy who turned up at my side? (Why me??!!). He'd been in Kendal all afternoon enjoying the local hospitality at several inns and taverns,by his ramblings, shouting loudly to get the band on,what time do you call this, etc etc. When the band struck up,he turned into a windmill with a couple of snapped blades, arms flailing randomly, clapping all over the place and generally losing balance along the way..........Half an hour,he lasted, after repeatedly bouncing off people around him,he gathered up his jacket off the floor,(no, me neither) turned and disapppered into the night, never to be seen again,at least down the front. And I'm sorry to say he was from my home town of Workington, recognising the accent,we were quick to distance ourselves! Wonder if he's home yet......... :D

Well, not the 18th but the 26th,me and my mate Brian will be there, mate George working but trying to wangle time off.Be down the front, hopefully, just in front of Muddy,--and I'm driving again! Think last year there was talk of bootleggers being refurbished but not sure if that came about, was a crackin' venue anyway! Will post on Thursday if I can, here's to another great gig by this great band!

18th????? Ok so it was the 9th this year, and it was a really good gig again-Mark seems to have been in that spot all his life (started playing Wishbone Ash at 9,Andy said!) and he brought another element to the line up,freshness of youth I suppose (no offence Muddy!) Steve Hill was really good I thought,a nice raw bluesy sound,if a tad gimmicky with the drumstick on the end of his guitar neck! I got Mark's set list signed by him later but had to go before rest of band came out.......
