Live in Memphis 12" vinyl

Postby George_D-S on Sun Aug 26, 2012 5:23 pm

So, if I considered putting my copy up for sale, would anyone be interested, given that the music can be had on the expanded "Argus"?

That's one "No Sale" then...
;)

Perhaps Chesterfield is the place to ask the question again.

There would almost certainly be an 'excitable' market for it, George. Perhaps Ashcon is your best place to sell.

Now for me to hazard a guess at it's current value... I'd say between £120-£160

I certainly wouldn't sell mine!

Purchased mine last year on e-bay for almost 80 euros.

That's a very good deal.

hello george,

i agree with those who are saying hold on to it, but if you are coming to ashcon please bring it along to the fan sales and swaps table and hopefully you will get the price you want from someone throughout the day.

from what i know about these things, price is very dependent on condition. most of the copies you see on ebay are vg or even less, so there tend to be a few crackles on the vinyl and the cover deteriorates and develops holes. they dont sell for a huge amount. but if you have a top quality copy then maybe £50 plus but very much dependent on what people are willing to pay.

also, from memory, whilst all 3 tracks are on the "expanded" edition of argus, there are only 2 on the double cd which has the paris theatre 1972 bootleg on it and is arguably better sound quality. so maybe you should keep the vinyl and the double argus cd and get rid of the expanded argus?

Thanks, each of you, for these considered pieces of information and advice. I don't suppose I really want to part with it, but as I don't have much room to set up a turntable on a permanent basis these days, it might cover the cost of visiting Chesterfield, or some other looming expense....
Hmmm...
