Blowin' Free was not written before WA in the 60s. Erroneous bunkum.
Bits of Handy were though.

I've just got round to labelling the versions of Argus tracks in my iTunes, and have now labelled the R&R (Remastered & Revisited) tracks as (Remix). It was interesting to see that all the WA compilations I have (Best Of, Distillation, Time Was) featured the remix versions, except for the more recent Sometime World compilation which features the originals.

Not having played Argus for a long time (I tend to listen to more recent WA albums), I decided to listen to the R&R version of Argus to see how it sounded compared to the DE (Deluxe Edition) and I think the R&R remix is not as good as the DE. It sounds too clean and a bit clinical/studio sounding.

I presume that the DE has the original mix of the album. As I never owned the original Argus LP I cannot compare the remaster to the original vinyl. I noticed on Rainer's discography site that some of the stereo channels are swapped round on the DE compared to the R&R Edition, but could it be that the R&R remix swapped the channels from the original mix? It would be interesting to know if anyone on the forum knows, or has opinions on these remixes / remasters.
