As they were on the day they were born, then There's The Rub. On reissue, the first remaster of Argus, thanks to the three bonus tracks. TTR just got Locked In stuck on its rear end.

Its Pilgrimage for me. Not only do you get that great front cover shot, you also get a smashing selection of pictures of the band inside the gatefold. Music's not bad either :D

Like most, I voted a few months ago for Argus, without actually thinking about it too much but as time goes by, and particularly after the recent tour I am coming to the realisation for me, the best album ever may actually be Power of Eternity :D

Can´t see anyone considering Wishbone Four...Give me a reason!! Even if a bit more "acoustic" than the other albums its very down to earth and of great melodiocity. Might be as underestimated as Front Page News which I grew up with...

They are almost all so good, with Argus and New England being my favorites, but damn, Illuminations is awful good, with really long, progressive guitar workouts... I think the team of Muddy and Andy has a truly great album in them, if they would just stretch out, and go in a slightly more progressive direction.....

I voted, of course, for Argus: is there really any other choice? In fact, it may be more interesting to have this poll minus this mighty milestone in rock history. I was, however, really pleased to see Number The Brave among the nominations because I think this is a sorely neglected collection and one which, at its time of release, I rather undervalued, particularly in the wake of 1981's line-up cahnges. Nearly 30 years on, however, and I think it has really endured as a high quality Ash release. The title track, Open Road, and Underground are all unquestionably up there with the best songs in Wishbone's catalogue, and all are deliciously different from each other too.

But elsewhere there are treats to be discovered as well: Loaded, Rollercoaster, Kicks On The Street ,are all filled with tasteful power, colour and precision while Rainstorm is, in my opinion, the most criminally underrated song in the whole Wishbone Ash canon: listen again to the beautifully intricate twin lead break midway through the song - it's just awesome. The only blemishes are That's That - a pretty tedious sub-Blind Eye romp - and a pointless cover od the great Get Ready: leave it to Smoky!

If you don't have a copy of this record I would advise you to go out and secure it somehow; if you've virtually forgotten it, then re-discover a lost treasure created by a short-lived incarnation of the band we all love.

I went with Illuminations as well, followed closely by Bonafide, with Argus coming in at a very close 3rd. :o ;)

I'm actually more shocked that anything trumped Bonafide with you, than I am that Argus came in 3rd. :o  8-)

Good shout by the Spiderman. Illuminations was something else. I remember walking into Tower Records in Glasgow, seeing it on the racks and going "Yass! They live!".
Took it home and listened to nothing else for about a month. A.P. :ugeek: and Roger Filgate  were a dream team-up.
